my child, trust me...

trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
proverbs 3:5-6

i woke up this morning
put one foot in front of the other
automatically
mechanically
making my way down the same road
i've traveled before...

now here You stand
in the center of my path
causing me to doubt
my customary direction,
showing me another way...

i am paralyzed
afraid to go forward,
afraid to go back...

i stand rooted to the spot
waiting for some guarantee,
some promise
to convince me that Your way is best...

but You offer me none of these.
You simply say,
"my child, trust me."
